The Skellen Bundle by Moleman9000 The Skellen Bundle by Moleman9000
CREATURE: The Skellen are an almost universally evil race of humanoids native to the planet Gorlune, and having colonies and outposts at various other locations throughout the Sigma Octant and beyond. Intended to be simple, hunter–gatherer creatures, the Skellen were accidentally gifted at creation with an instinctual obsession with superior technology and self–advancement. Over centuries, they evolved into an advanced and barbaric warrior race known and feared throughout the galaxy and in league with the forces of darkness. The Skellen are one of the most formidable evils in the mortal universe, having gone to war with dozens of planets and killing tens of millions throughout their long history, all while maintaining some sort of presence in virtually every sector of the Prime Galaxy. Skellen communities exist on more than 100 planets, moons and installations, and the total population of the species is estimated at 1,500,000,000. Of those, approximately 1,000,000,000, two thirds of this number, reside on their home planet of Gorlune. A Skellen’s natural height is 1.5–2 meters (up to 3 meters for Skellords, see below), and their base durability value is 450–700; both are highly variable.

Physically, their notable features include pointed, naturally toeless feet, a prominent curvature of the middle finger, and a series of line markings across the face, as well as other clearly visible body structure patterns. Mutant Skellen are called Skellords, and they are the rulers of their race, often being named after colors. They are much taller and stronger than ordinary Skellen, and sometimes have unique superpowers. Pictured here is Skellord Blue. He was the ruling Skellord for Ages 729–753. He started the Second Skellen Wars with Ergnoplis in Age 730, and triggered the brief Third Skellen Wars more than twenty years later in Age 753, but the Skellen Mothership was infiltrated and destroyed through sabotage by Mulshians led by General Yimf Badassic and the then–recently–completed Eggmen Super Team, who killed Skellord Blue in the process, thus saving Ergnoplis and its people from what would have otherwise been certain destruction and subjugation.

The Skellen’s most notable technological practice is their use of extremely complex armors which cover their entire bodies and are worn by all adults at virtually all times. Apart from the armors’ main practical purposes of increased damage protection and military specialization, it is evident that the Skellen harbor a deep, eternal desire for self–modification and expression of individuality through unique appearance. Indeed, more than 300 distinct varieties of Skellen armor are currently known to be mass–produced, with over 2,000 versions recognized throughout the race’s history, and most individuals customize their armor in at least some way, ranging from simple cosmetic adjustments to major functional modification.

Shown here are four of the most commonly seen armors in the Skellen military:
(Top left, top right, lower left, lower right)

:bulletblue: Crusader Armor Mk. V: Intended only for very high–ranking Skellen warriors suited to intense and prolonged battle. Extremely thick metals provide a relative durability increase of up to 1,000, and mechanical, chemically–infused parts cause a dramatic increase in stamina and willpower.

:bulletred: Berserker Armor Mk. VI: Designed to enable as much damage to as many enemies as possible within the shortest amount of time in most situations. Outfitted with several spiked features designed to pierce flesh, and injects users constantly with steroids that both increase physical strength tremendously and deliver vicious bursts of adrenaline. Made to allow as much maneuverability as possible, at the cost of protection factor, which is only about 300 durability.

:bulletpurple: Prowler Armor Mk. III: One of the more basic armors used by traditional heavy infantry. It is made for long tours of duty in harsh conditions and its protection value is about 500.

:bulletgreen: Defender Armor Mk. IV: Intended solely to provide as much protection as possible under extremely heavy fire. The Defender Armor not only boasts a durability increase of 1,500, but is equipped with built–in painkillers administered automatically to negate the effects of immediate physical trauma on the wearer.

Pictured center is the naked creature with no armor.

:bulletpurple: Huncsacel: The Huncsacel is one of multiple native creatures of Gorlune that has been exploited by the Skellen and turned into a weapon. Another such creature is the Errvwarp. However, neither of these creatures are particularly pleasant to begin with, for Gorlune is indeed a very dangerous place to be even without the tyranny of its dominant race. Huncsacels are hulks that weigh a whole ton (as in 2,000 lbs.) and stand ten feet tall and fifteen feet wide. They slowly get around by walking on two beefy arms that are strong enough to carry their massive girth, and they kill prey and enemies by crushing them with their bodies. Huncsacels also have two heads: one relatively small one that is exposed on their lower body and eats food, and another much larger one that stays hidden inside the creature's shell. Both heads must be destroyed to kill the beast, though it cannot survive for very long without its lower head since it needs it to eat properly. They have durability values exceeding 3,000 and because of this asset as well as having two vital parts that must be destroyed to kill them, they have been appropriated by the Skellen in large numbers and forced to become living tanks that are grafted with guns and other "enhancements", deployed into large battles and literally used as cover. Pictured here is a Huncsacel as it appears in nature; once one has been warped by the Skellen, its appearance may become quite different.

For a minute there, I thought they were like robots. These must be very unusual alien creatures.

(Of course, a Skellord also appeared all the way back in Connor Thorn)

Yeah, that's not new lol. The Skellord is, and again, he (that specific one, Skellord Blue) will appear as the final villain of Eggmen: Mercenary Legends (in chapters 11 and 12). As you've probably realized by now, I prefer to draw the characters that appear in my stories first rather than introduce them in the stories and then draw them.

Only the one on the right is brand new. The one on top was added a couple months ago and the rest is more than a year old.

Have you read any of my story/stories?

BTW I've sent you an envelope with some art and also received your most recent one to me.
