Rorynth, Vampiric Shade, and More Assorted Weapons by Moleman9000 Rorynth, Vampiric Shade, and More Assorted Weapons by Moleman9000
Custodian's Note: After receiving many complaints that the visualization of the Rorynth previously given was an artist's depiction and not an actual photograph, a real photo of the beast has now been taken to further enhance your encyclopedic experience. This note is dedicated to the three photographers who lost their lives trying to capture the demon on camera. The Custodian of the Nava–Verse hopes you people are proud of yourselves.

CREATURE: The Rorynth, also known as the "Vampiric Shade" or "Vampiric Spook", is a unique genus of lower–order Demon native to the Gomorran Desert Plane. It is almost entirely sub–corporeal in physical composition, and moderately aggressive to most travelers and local creatures, while passive to other beings. It appears to be sentient, but not sapient.

The Rorynth feeds upon prey by inhaling them through the contractable mini–vacuum in its upper chest area, and when a victim is fully engulfed it is impaled vertically by a large spike of cartilage located outside of the stomach, and then decomposed by the creature's digestive systems, which absorb all blood and smooth muscle in the victim's entire body. The remains are broken down into a fine slimy pulp and packaged into a hairball, which the Rorynth excretes through the mouth on its head within one hour of ingestion.

The Rorynth is very slothful, moving rather slowly on its slug–like underside and sleeping within a makeshift cocoon formed from its own outer shell at least 14 hours a day. However, it compensates for this with its uncanny self–camouflaging capabilities and skill for hiding in spots where potential food is likely to unknowingly stumble close enough to it to be eaten. When under attack by a creature capable of harming it, the Rorynth retreats into its shell and hardens it intensely by diverting immense amounts of blood calcium into it, which depletes a large amount of energy from the creature and takes some time to recover from the fatigue. In this state, the Rorynth boasts a durability value of exactly 9,001, making it nigh impossible to kill with any handheld weapon. For comparison, in its normal state, the Rorynth has a durability value of 1,800.

The Rorynth is also widely believed to be related, most likely a direct ancestor, of the more common, articulate and actively aggressive Nirtrids, found throughout the Gomorran Desert and in the mortal realm.

I like how many of these weapons have eyeball-like designs.

This was actually only the second creature ever created. That part about adding a "real" picture because the "artist's depiction" was insufficient? Yeah.

It reminds me of a shroud crossed with a demonic clown.
